How long does it take to clear acne with Face Reality?+
Most clients see significant improvement in 3-6 months with consistent treatment. Mild acne may clear faster (8-12 weeks), while severe or cystic acne may take 6+ months. The key is consistency — bi-weekly facials combined with daily home-care use.
Is Face Reality safe for teens?+
Yes! We treat teens regularly and adjust protocols for younger skin. For clients under 18, parent/guardian consent is required for the initial consultation. Teen acne responds exceptionally well to Face Reality because we catch it early before scarring occurs.
Why do I need a consultation first?+
Acne is complex — what works for one person can make another worse. The consultation lets us identify your specific acne type (hormonal, inflammatory, comedonal), triggers, and skin sensitivity. This ensures your treatment plan is personalized, not generic.
Will my skin purge when starting treatment?+
Some clients experience a brief purging period in the first 2-3 weeks as underlying congestion comes to the surface. This is actually a good sign — it means the products are working. Your esthetician will prepare you for this and adjust your protocol if needed.
How much does acne treatment cost?+
Initial consultation is $179 (70 min). Follow-up facials are $149 (45 min) or $189 (60 min). Our Acne Boot Camp ($225/month for 2 facials) is the best value — saving $73/month vs individual appointments. Home-care products are separate and typically run $100-200 for a full routine.
What's the difference between Face Reality and a regular facial?+
Face Reality is a clinical acne treatment system — not a spa facial. It uses medical-grade ingredients, mandelic acid, and targeted protocols that are adjusted every 2 weeks based on your skin's response. Regular facials can actually make acne worse if the wrong products or techniques are used.
Can I wear makeup during acne treatment?+
Yes, but we'll review your current products. Some makeup contains pore-clogging ingredients that undermine treatment. We'll recommend non-comedogenic alternatives if needed. Many clients find they need less makeup as their skin clears.
